What We Collect & Why

We only collect information you choose to share with us. When you submit a celebration story, request a reveal plan, or chat with Poppy, you may provide your name, email, celebration details, and media (photos or videos). We use this to display your story on our Celebrations page, generate your personalized party kit, and improve our chat assistant.

Voice Capture & Speech-to-Text

When you use the microphone button in Poppy chat, we temporarily capture your voice audio in your browser. The audio is sent to our secure transcription service via the Lovable AI Gateway, which routes the audio to OpenAI (using models such as gpt-4o-mini-transcribe or gpt-4o-transcribe) for conversion to text. We do not store the raw audio recording on our servers — the audio is held only long enough for transcription and is then discarded. Only the resulting text is retained for the chat session. You must grant microphone permission in your browser; you can revoke this permission at any time through your browser settings.

AI Processing

Messages you send to Poppy are processed by an AI model through the Lovable AI Gateway (which may route to providers such as OpenAI or Google) to generate responses. We may also store your feedback (ratings with optional notes) to help us improve Poppy's suggestions over time. We do not use your chat content to build individual user profiles or for behavioral advertising.

Media & Story Submissions

Photos, videos, and stories you submit become part of our public Celebrations gallery unless you tell us otherwise. By submitting, you confirm you have the right to share that content. We store media in secure cloud storage and generate public links so visitors can view your milestone slideshow.

Cookies & Analytics

We use basic cookies and analytics to understand how visitors move through the site and to keep you signed in if you create an account. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Data Hosting

Ridiculous Reveals runs on Lovable Cloud infrastructure. Your data is stored and processed within that environment. This statement describes our current practices; platform capabilities may evolve over time.

Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods:

• Celebration stories and media: Retained indefinitely while displayed in the public Celebrations gallery, or until you request removal.
• Reveal plan requests: Retained for 12 months to support follow-up and party kit regeneration, then deleted unless you request earlier removal.
• Poppy chat messages: Retained for 90 days to support conversation context and quality improvements, then deleted.
• Voice audio recordings: Not retained. Raw audio is discarded immediately after transcription.
• Feedback ratings and notes: Retained for 12 months to help us improve Poppy's suggestions, then reviewed for deletion or anonymization.
• Legal consent records: Retained for 6 years after your last interaction to demonstrate compliance with privacy and terms obligations.

Subprocessors & Service Providers

We use the following subprocessors to operate the site and deliver features:

• Lovable Cloud (Supabase): Hosting, database, authentication, file storage, and edge functions.
• OpenAI: Speech-to-text transcription (gpt-4o-mini-transcribe, gpt-4o-transcribe) and AI chat completions processed through the Lovable AI Gateway.
• Google (via Lovable AI Gateway): AI chat completions for certain Poppy responses.

All AI and transcription processing is routed through the Lovable AI Gateway, which manages provider selection and data routing on our behalf.

Your Choices

You can ask us to remove your story, plan request, or chat feedback by contacting us. You are never required to submit personally identifiable information to browse the site, but some features (like generating a party kit or submitting a story) require an email so we can follow up.
